Wah Pedal Help
If you will notice that inside the pedal on the main board there are three trimpots. You will see two grey trimpots and a blue one. The trimpot directly below the inductor (#1) is the vocal trimpot. This enables you to adjust the range of the sweep in the wah. This will come set to the original specs of the pedal. Notice the mark. Now we move on to the trimpot in the middle of the board (#2). This one is to adjust the midrange of the pedal. Though very subtle it can be very useful in the overall sound of the pedal. This also comes set to the original specs of the pedal. Last but not least there is the gain and bass response trimpot (#3). This trimpot is very useful, it comes set to the original specs of the pedal. By turning this trimmer down you can get more bass and gain hence a deeper sound, but be careful if it is turned down to much the wah may become muddy and distorted. Turning it up has the opposite effect, brighter and less gain. Also with all of my wahs you get the volume trimpot that is located at the front of the pedal on the output buffer. Set it to your liking and enjoy the fuzz! I hope this information has been helpful and I hope you enjoy your new pedal as much as I do. Thank you for choosing Wilson Effects. Kevin Wilson
Adjustable Wah
Q-Wah
The Q-wah has much of the same features as the Adjustable Wah. Let's start on the inside. Inside the Q-wah you will notice that there are two internal trimpots on the main board. Much like the Adjustable Wah the one in the middle of the board is the midrange trimpot. Though very subtle it is very helpful in the overall sound of the pedal. Also you will notice the blue trimpot. This is to adjust the bass response and gain of the pedal to give you either a deeper darker sound or a higher brighter sound. Then there is the volume trimpot at the front of the pedal on the output buffer. This is one that you should set to your liking and leave it alone. Lets move to the outside of the pedal. If you will notice just above the input jack there is two knobs. The first one closest to the input jack is the Q control. The original setting of this knob is straight up and down. When moved back towards the back of the pedal you will find three different settings that produce a deeper Q sweep of the pedal. When you move the knob towards the front of the pedal you will notice the there are two positions that produce a higher sweep in the pedal. Above the q control you will find the vocal knob. When facing straight up and down it is in the original set position of the pedal. If you turn this knob you will notice the sweep of the pedal get less and less. When you combine all of these features and realize the extreme versatility of this pedal you will indeed have hours and hours of great experimentation ahead of you. I hope you enjoy your Q-Wah as much as I have enjoyed developing it. Thanks for choosing Wilson Effects. Kevin Wilson
Things to Know
| Your new wah pedal has a few parts in it that over time due to friction and wear and tear may need replacing. One of these parts is the potentiometer. If by chance one of these days your pot happens to become scratchy it may need replaced though these parts are not covered by warranty they are covered against failure for the first thirty days. There are one of two things you can do if your pot becomes scratchy you could try using a lubricant like the one sold at radio shack #64-4315 or there is a chance that it needs replaced. If you decide to replace it yourself this will not void your warranty, but I would be happy to help you with getting a new one as often I have plenty of these in stock. One of the other friction based components in the wah is the switch. We use only Carling DPDT switches. These switches are fully adjustable inside the wah there is another nut around the shaft of the switch that ca be adjusted to your liking. Simply loosen the nut on the outside of the pedal and you can raise or lower the switch to your desired setting. If by chance you happen to need a replacement switch doing this on your own will not void the warranty. I do however have these available also and would be happy to help you aqquire a new on. Rocker Tensioning Adjustment You also may wonder about how to adjust the tension on the wah pedal itself. If you look at the back of the pedal you will see up under the footpad an allen screw. Simply turn this allen screw to adjust the tension of the pedal more to your liking. It's as easy as that.
